Discouragement turned to encouragement

On the journey of adoption you know that there will be ups and downs, but you never know when they will pop up. About a week ago, I was thinking about and wondering how we would be able to raise all the money. So in the moment I prayed and told God about the discouragement I was feeling. In that moment I knew that it would be alright and we just need to continue to be faithful to the path that God has called us to. Then that afternoon, no joke I came home and checked the mail and there was a donation check randomly sent to us for our adoption. It was awesome to see God instantly work right after I had decided not to give into discouragement and know this is the path even though not sure of all the twists and turns. I hope whoever reads this will be encouraged in whatever journey they find themselves and know that when you are faithful to the plan God has for you then you will be encouraged!

Happy New Year's from The Hornbakers

2011 was an interesting and fun-filled year. We moved new a new church and home. We have met some new friends, sold and bought a house, and, most importantly, we started our adoption process. It is hard to imagine that it has taken less than a year to become a waiting family, but here we are. We have completed our home study and we are slowly bringing our baby room to where we want it. We have put together our Emergency Adoption Package (or EAP). It consists of bottles, onesies, wraps, cloths, diapers/wipes, formula, pacifier, and pretty much everything we could possibly need in case we get the phone call that there is a baby waiting for us at the hospital. It's fun shopping for baby things. There is the real possibility that our baby will be spoiled. Keep praying for our adoption process and for the birth parents and the pregnancy.
