Another home study done!

We finished our second home study today and it went great. We have one more left and some more training before we become 'eligible' parents. Our next home study is December 9 and we have a long checklist of safe guards for our house that will need to be done. These guys in the picture are waiting patiently for a baby to cuddle and love on.

Something's Brewing in the air!

Hey Everyone, Thanks to a wonderful friend we have started a new fundraiser! We are selling Scentsy Buddies! They are super cute and can be used in all kinds of areas, nurseries, children's rooms, classrooms, and wherever else you would like them. The scent pouch can also be taken out and then children can play with them. The buddies cost $25 each and for each one sold we get $6.25 towards our adoption. They would make a great gift for people in your life, just in time for Christmas. We are selling them now until November 30th. To order on-line just go to http://www.jenniferspurgeon.scentsy.us/ and click on Hornbaker’s Adoption Fundraiser under picture in the My Open Parties area. Through this website you can purchase any of the scentsy buddies or any other scentsy product. These are just some of the cute ones available- check out all of them on the website!

Reached another Goal!

We are excited to announce that through donations, t-shirt sells, and ripping out kitchen cabinets we were able to meet our second financial goal. With this blessing we are able to have enough money for the birthmother expense. Even when things were looking a little rough a couple of days ago, God can take a situation and give you hope and affirm that what you are doing is truly what He has planned for you!  Now we are working towards our third financial goal, which is the matching expense. For those of you who are wondering what a "matching" expense would be, it is when we will be matched with a birthmother then we need to pay that expense, it covers various fees related to finding birthmothers. Being matched is when both parties agree to move forward with the adoption process together. Please continue to pray for the process and for our financial needs to be met. We appreciate all of your support!

Great News from the Hornbaker blog

Great news!  We have closed on both houses and we will begin painting and moving into our new house.  We will begin getting the baby's room ready, too.  Start looking for pictures!  Thank you everybody for your prayers and support during this time.  We are excited about everything that is happening and the progress we are making.  The goal is to be completely done with our home study and to be "eligible parents" by the new year.  After that, we can either adopt through our agency or we can do a private adoption with anybody who is looking to place her baby up for adoption.
