Adoption puts us in an interesting position. It is one where everything that happens directly affects our adoption process. We recently found that out with our houses. We are trying to close our old one and close our new one, which has been an ongoing, fun-filled endeavor. When we found out some bad news the other day about our old house, we realized how it would affect our adoption. Our old house closing day has been pushed back (again) and it caused our new house to close later, which then made us change our move-in day and our next home study because it is supposed to happen at the house.
It's only a week or so, but imagine if you're pregnant and the doctor says, "Well, it looks like you're not going to have the baby on the day we thought. It's actually a week later." That would be frustrating. It is frustrating. You wait for this long and everything is supposed to happen like you want it to, but that's not the case. I spoke to the youth last night about patience, which John McArthur says is "being able to accept God's plan for everything, without questioning or grumbling." We are patiently waiting and wading through this process. One seemingly small hangup can produce a much larger outcome, but we know what it is that we are waiting for.
We ask for you to keep praying that these small setbacks will remain minimal and will not affect the bigger picture. Pray also for us as we continue to wait patiently for those sleepless nights with a newborn baby (what normal person looks forward to that?). Finally, pray for the birth parents; for a healthy pregnancy. Thank you.
